Families will experience what life was like in the nineteenth century at the historic Woodside Store in Woodside at Kings Mountain and Tripp Roads between noon and 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, during the store’s annual FREE event.

The Woodside Storekeepers invite visitors to experience life in the 1880s. This free family day will focus on the history of the Woodside Store and the redwood logging activities of the area. Children will learn to saw with a two man-saw, wash clothes the old-fashioned way, split shingles with a mallet and froe, compete in a seed spitting contest, make dolls and much more.

Longtime Bay Area bluegrass banjo player Sonia Shell, along with Art Friedman—a fiddler originally from New York who later moved to the Bay Area—will transport visitors back in time to experience living history at the Old Woodside Store.
