The museum aims to bring the history of NASA and the former Naval Air Station Moffett Field to the Bay Area. Special activities to celebrate the latest in air and space exploration include:

- Discover the cockpit of a P3 Orion
- Fly toy drones and simulate docking on the USS Macon
- View a moon rock from Apollo 15, as well as commercial satellites and Mars rovers
- View a variety of modern and historic military aircraft and NASA vehicles up close
Families are encouraged to spend the day with the museum, refreshments will be available for purchase. Walk among some of the historic aircraft that flew from Moffett Field and view interesting exhibits and artifacts that document Moffett Field’s storied 90 years of history!. The famous Moffett Field Museum Train Room will also be open, and be sure to see the newest addition–a local CalTrain Engine and Coach
