Community Maker Day - San Jose Museum of Art
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 06/04/2022
Celebrate Silicon Valley as a leader of innovation, creativity, technology, and the home of the world-renowned Maker Movement. Learn by doing and reimagine new uses for objects and materials. Community Day: Maker Day features a visit from RAFT Maker Mobile and San Jose Public Library's Maker[Space] Ship, a performance by the students of Eric Hayslett’s RE-PERCUSSIONS workshops, and art activities exploring the close ties between science and art.
Make musical instruments with Eric Hayslett, test the power of the sun with cyanotype printing, explore the power of perception with beginner-friendly sketchbook explorations, and tinker with the power of nature by building a micro-grower.
Community Day: Maker Day will also showcase the winners of the Dr. Jerry Hiura Next-Gen Visual Artist Award—a scholarship that celebrates young visionary artists and supports their artistic practice and goals as they pursue higher education.
